An exclusive visit to our artist’s atelier in a neighboring village is also included, accompanied by a glass of local wine and an intimate studio exploration.

Wednesday
A guided visit to a unique, one-of-a-kind cattle market, offering insight into the traditions and practices of raising the renowned Charolais cattle, followed by lunch.
In the heart of the Brionnais countryside, artists Karin Bain and Barnaby Bain, a husband and wife team, have transformed their home, located just a few minutes from us in the beautiful small village of Amanzé, into a creative haven where art and landscape meet. Since 2013, their “artists’ house” has been a space of exploration and expression, celebrating the living tapestry of the bocage through sculpture, painting, and design. Their joint works capture the connection between human craft and natural vitality, inviting visitors to experience the Charolais-Brionnais region as both muse and masterpiece.
This is not a destination designed to impress.
It is a place designed to be felt.
Why LOSTINBOURGOGNE
LostinBourgogne sits in the heart of the Charolais–Brionnais, one of the last truly unspoiled regions of France. Rolling bocage hills, grazing cattle, stone villages, and ever-changing light create a natural environment for calm, focus, and creativity.
Here, traditional country life is still lived rather than staged. There are no tourist routes, no nearby attractions, and no sense of urgency. The landscape itself invites slowness and attention. Step into the quiet countryside, where world slows, creativity blooms, and presence is restored.
Our home is rooted in this land, and so are our retreats. Every detail — the rhythm of the days, the shared meals, the quiet of the surroundings — is designed to help you step away from distraction, reconnect with presence, and feel yourself in its full depth.
